French Press Perfection
The French Press combines bold flavors with a velvety texture, creating coffee with unmatched depth and richness. A timeless method, it brings simplicity and elegance to every cup.
1. Heat Water
Bring enough water to fill your French Press to a boil at a temperature between 195° and 205°F (90° and 96°C). For a 17 ounce French Press you will need about 350 grams (12 ounces)
2. Measure & Grind
Zero out your scale and grind about 30 grams of coffee to a texture resembling sea salt. We recommend a burr grinder to ensure precise consistency.
3. Preheat
Rinse the French Press with hot water to warm it up and help maintain the coffee’s brewing temperature. Discard the rinse water before brewing.
4. Bloom
Place the coffee grounds into the French Press and place the French Press on your scale. Zero out the scale and add 60 grams of water (twice the weight of the coffee) to saturate the grounds. Give the grounds a gentle stir and allow the coffee to bloom for 30 seconds.
5. Pour
Pour the remaining water, filling the French Press to its desired level, and place the lid gently on top of the grounds. Before pressing the plunger, start a timer let the coffee steep for no less than 4 minutes.
6. Press
Gently remove the French Press from the scale and slowly press the plunger down until it reaches the bottom with steady even pressure. Pour the coffee into your mug or carafe right away to avoid over-extraction.
6. Enjoy
Enjoy the deep, robust flavors and silky texture of your French Press coffee. Each cup is a luxurious embrace of timeless brewing.
